Why Blink Doorbell Won’t Connect To WiFi?

Blink Doorbell is a wireless doorbell that you can use to ring your visitors and also communicate with them at the same time. However, users have been faced with the issues of blink video doorbell not connecting to their Wifi network or having internet access. In this post, we would provide the reason why your blink doorbell won’t connect to your home wifi and how to fix it.

Why Blink Doorbell Won’t Connect To Wifi?

The Blink Doorbell doesn’t connect to WiFi because of a defective sync module. Users are using cellular data instead, but this isn’t recommended since it’s not designed for continuous usage. The best solutions are connecting the doorbell with a wired connection, or resetting the device and re-pairing it with your wifi network again.

How to fix Blink Doorbell if it won’t connect to WiFi?

If your Blink device is not connecting to the WiFi, you may want to try some of these solutions. First, make sure that there are no high-frequency devices near your home that could be interfering with the signal.

1. Use the Correct Password for your WiFi Network

You want to make sure that you are using the right password for your Wi-Fi network. Usually, it is on the label on the back of the router, or it may have been made when your router was set up. A new computer, tablet, or smartphone can help you figure out if you’re using the right password to connect to your Wi-Fi.

There are a few things you can do if your Wi-Fi is already connected to your device: You can try to forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect by entering the password again. This will make sure that you’re using the right password and that your Blink app is connected to the Wi-Fi that you want to use for Blink products so that you can use them.

2. Ensure your router is not blocking access to the Sync Module

The Sync Module may be blocked by your router, so double-check. If you receive a notification indicating a device is trying to gain access, but you don’t recognize the name, this might happen.

3. Enable the 2.4 GHz network

There are some Wi-Fi routers that only allow you to connect to the 5 GHz network, or the Blink device switches to the 5 GHz network instead of the 2 GHz network. Make sure the 2.4 GHz network is on in your router’s settings. Dual-band routers let you split the dual-band 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz network into two separate networks for each frequency. This way, you can set up separate networks for each frequency. When setting up the Sync Module, it might be helpful to add “2.4g” to the name of that network.

Turn off the 5 GHz network. Your Blink system might not work if it switches over and over to a 5 GHz network over and over again. It might be better to turn off the 5 GHz network completely.

4. Update your Blink module firmware

If Blink Doorbell won’t connect to WiFi, you should update the firmware on your doorbell and also check if your WiFi network is secure. Blink Doorbell requires a 2.4GHz WiFi network with WPA or WPA2 security enabled, and both the doorbell and your router need to be on the same channel.

Why Is Blink Sync Module Not Connecting To WiFi?

There are a few potential reasons why your Blink Sync Module might not be connecting to WiFi. The first possibility is that the module may have disconnected from the WiFi due to your router. If you’re using a VPN service to connect your device, it’s possible that this is preventing your device from connecting to WiFi. Another potential reason for this disconnection could be network issues with the base station.

The Blink Sync Module will not connect to WiFi if you’re using a location-altering service on either your mobile device or PC. Make sure your network is working properly before attempting the hard reset process; if it doesn’t work, try disabling any active VPNs or firewalls and then try connecting the device again. The first step to fixing this issue is unplugging your sync module’s power adapter and waiting for five minutes so that the device can discharge. After five minutes have passed, re-attach the power adapter and wait for your sync module to boot again. Then, try connecting your sync module with different wall outlets if you feel insecure about its power supply.”

1. Network Problems

Below are some troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve the issue:

  • Verify that your Blink Sync Module is within range of your WiFi router and has a clear line of sight.
  • Make sure that your WiFi router is turned on and broadcasting a signal.
  • Ensure that you are using the correct network name (SSID) and password for your Blink Sync Module.
  • If possible, try moving your Blink Sync Module closer to your WiFi router.
  • If you’ve tried these troubleshooting tips and are still having problems connecting to WiFi, please contact the Blink support team for assistance.

2. Out of Range

Your doorbell may not sync with the blink module when it is out of range. Blink doorbell’s WiFi signal is currently only effective up to 100 feet. You can also purchase an extender for your wireless router and increase the range, or use a powerline adapter to increase the range for your doorbell.

3. Incompatible Network

One possibility is that the network you are trying to connect to is incompatible with the Blink Sync Module. Networks using WEP security, for example, are not compatible with the module. If you’re having trouble connecting to a network, make sure that the network meets the following requirements:

  • The network must use WPA or WPA2 security
  • The network name (SSID) must be broadcasted
  • The network must be in the range

4. Power Issues

One possibility is that you’re experiencing power issues. Make sure that your module is properly plugged into an outlet and that the outlet is functioning correctly. If you’re using a surge protector, try plugging the module directly into the wall to see if that resolves the issue. If you’ve tried all of these troubleshooting steps and your module still isn’t connecting to WiFi, please contact the blink support team for assistance.

5. Wrong Password

It is possible that you have a typo in your password. Double-check the capitalization and spaces to make sure all of those are correct, then try again
